Barksdale & Capshaw Wealth Management

Billy serves as the Branch Manager of the Lynchburg office of Davenport & Company and he is the Regional Manager for Davenport’s western branches. He joined Davenport in 1997. During his tenure at Davenport, Billy has played an active role in the management and growth of the firm; he serves on the firm’s Board of Directors and is a former member of the Executive Committee.

Billy began his career in 1980 at Horner-Barksdale & Company, which became Scott & Stringfellow when the two companies merged in 1984. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. degree in History. In his free time, Billy enjoys golfing and spending time with his family including his wife, Lea, their three adult daughters, and six grandchildren.

Bill joined Davenport as an Investment Executive in 2009. Prior to joining the firm, he gained 10 years of experience as a Sales Manager with Leith Land Rover in Cary, NC. Bill serves on the Davenport Asset Management Advisory Board. He is Series 7, 63, and 66 registered and is licensed to sell long-term care insurance.

Bill graduated from Colorado State University in 1996 with a B.A. degree in Exercise Sports Science. He later attended North Carolina State University where he received a second B.A. degree in Chemistry in 2005. When he is not working, Bill enjoys spending time with his wife, Hollis, and their five children, Cole, William, Lawson, Stowe, and Carolina.

Spencer joined Davenport & Company in 2011. She is responsible for managing client relationships and operations for the Barksdale & Capshaw team along with serving as the Branch Office Administrator for the Lynchburg office of Davenport. Spencer graduated from Liberty University with a B.A. degree in Business Administration and Strategic Marketing Management. In her free time, she enjoys to travel, read and hike.
