John began his career in the financial services industry in 1995 with Legg Mason, which later became Smith Barney. In 2009, John and several of his colleagues established the Greensboro office of Davenport & Company. He specializes in wealth advisory for individuals and qualified retirement plans for businesses. John also serves on Davenport’s Board of Directors.
John earned the professional designation Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM from the College of Financial Planning and the designation Accredited Investment Fiduciary® from the Center for Fiduciary Studies. He earned a degree in business from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. John and his wife, Whitney, have two children. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching middle school basketball, spending time with his family, playing golf, and fishing.
