Growing up in an investment advisor household, Jackson has always been passionate about stocks. At age 13, he saved enough allowance to buy his first shares of AAPL after visiting the Apple store and seeing the potential behind the iPhone. From this experience and going forward, he knew he wanted to pursue a career in finance.
Upon graduating from Woodberry Forest School, Jackson attended the University of Georgia, where he earned a BBA in Finance from the Terry College of Business. During his time at UGA, Jackson joined Sigma Nu fraternity, was elected into the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) and served as an Analyst for the University of Georgia Foundation. He also interned at Davenport in the summer of 2013 and studied abroad in 2014 at the Prague University of Economics and Business in Czechia.
In 2016, Jackson began his professional career in Davenport’s Research Department as an associate covering healthcare and industrials before spending four years at Guggenheim Securities as a sell-side Equity Research Associate. At Guggenheim, Jackson covered internet and digital media companies including Netflix, Roku, Alphabet, Snap and The Trade Desk. He sharpened his craft by focusing on fundamental and data analysis, financial modeling and advising institutional investors.
In July 2022, Jackson returned to Davenport to join forces with his father, Tim, and currently specializes in business development, research and implementation of investment ideas for their team. As Tim’s partner, he draws from his experience at Guggenheim by having a keen eye for undervalued equities and looking for ways to optimize clients’ portfolios. He is Series 7, 66 and 86 & 87 registered with FINRA.
In his free time, Jackson enjoys hiking, snow skiing, playing recreational softball and growing his vegetable garden as well as watching MLB and college football games. He is also an alumni mentor for UGA’s Student Managed Investment Fund and helps guide business majors who are interested in equity research.
