Ralph began his financial career as a financial advisor in 1983. In 1990, he left Merrill Lynch to join Davenport & Company and is now Senior Vice President–Investments. Ralph specializes in serving individuals and families offering a wide range of planning services and investment solutions. He seeks to help his clients achieve their life goals with custom investment advice and exceptional personal service. By taking the time to understand his client’s goals, he can offer planning and investment advice that is highly personalized and tailored to address their financial goals and objectives, risk tolerance and time horizon.

Ralph earned a degree in English Literature with a minor in Music from Rutgers University. He went on to obtain a MMED degree from the State College of New Jersey. In his free time, he enjoys playing music and golf. Ralph and his wife, Lynn, have two adult daughters.

Prior to joining Davenport in 2024, Tyler spent 20 years working with S&P Global (formerly SNL Financial), and held various roles across the organization while working in London and Hong Kong. He returned to home to Charlottesville in 2015. In his most recent role, he was responsible for cultivating and managing customer relationships with Investment Banking and Private Equity firms.

Tyler graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with a B.A. in Economics. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, coaching little league baseball and spending time with his wife, Lolly, and their two children.

Owen joined Davenport in 2023. He provides operational and administrative services to the Rush & Lux Wealth Management team.

Owen grew up across the street from the old Martha Jefferson Hospital before his family moved to Crozet. He attended Western Albemarle High School and graduated from James Madison University with a double major in political science and economics.

Jay joined Davenport & Company in 1994. He started his business career with IBM before switching to financial services in 1984 with E.F. Hutton.

A graduate of Old Dominion University, Jay earned his B.S. degree in Business. He is Series 3, 7, 63 and 65 registered with FINRA and is licensed to offer insurance products.

Outside of work, Jay serves on the local YMCA board. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and basketball, boating, fishing, and traveling with his wife, Jackie.

A dedicated professional with a background in elite athletics, leadership, and now as a financial advisor, Eric has excelled in multiple fields, demonstrating perseverance, strategic thinking, and a commitment to excellence.

Prior to joining Davenport in 2024, Eric spent nine years as a professional soccer player, competing in Major League Soccer and the USL Championship. His career highlights include winning a U.S. Open Cup with the Houston Dynamo, earning an NCAA National Championship while being named a two-time All ACC and All-American honoree at the University of Virginia, and being elected as the first ever President of the United Soccer League Players Association.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Eric is a devoted husband to his wife, Carly Bird, and a proud father to their newborn daughter, Roselynn. Both Virginia Beach natives, Eric and Carly moved back to their hometown in 2024 to raise their family. They enjoy walks with their two rescue dogs, fishing, and soaking up the sun on the beach. When Eric is not at work or with his family, you’ll find him on the soccer field coaching and helping the next generation of local soccer players to reach their full potential.

With over 10 years of experience, Alicia brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. She provides administrative and operational support to the Atchinson & Bird team. She graduated from Southern Columbia University with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Business, which has equipped her with a solid foundation in business principles and client relations.

Outside of work, Alicia enjoys reading, watching documentaries, cooking, and camping with her family. Watching her kids play sports is one of her favorite pastimes.
