Cannon joined Davenport in 1992 and focuses on managing wealth for individuals, businesses, and non-profits. He is Series 7, 63, 65 registered and is licensed to sell long-term care, life, and health insurance.
Cannon graduated with a BA in international studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He regularly speaks at civic clubs and school groups about investing and is involved in a number of local organizations, including the Farmville Rotary Club, Downtown Farmville, and the Farmville United Methodist Church. He was awarded the President’s Award by the Farmville Rotary Club in 1994 and 1995. Cannon was the kick-off man for the University of North Carolina football team in the late 1980’s and spent 27 seasons as the play-by-play radio voice of Hampden-Sydney College football and basketball. He is a member of both the Hampden-Sydney College and Fuqua School/Prince Edward Academy athletic Hall of Fame.
When he is not at work, Cannon enjoys taking his wife, Lorrie, and children, Ethan and Sophie, on vacations where he can practice his French and Spanish. He also enjoys being a volunteer entertainer at the local hospital and occasionally appears in the area with his band, The Porch Gliders.

Cannon is licensed to offer insurance and annuity products to residents in Florida and Virginia.
